Where we are

Every county in England, all of Wales and all of Scotland, from Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles down to Cornwall. More than two million walks measured across them. Tap any area to see what we hold there.

  • We know this area · 79 areasDone and live. We have measured every walk against the map: the footpaths and rights of way, what is underfoot, and what you will meet on the way. We hold the council rules about dogs in Yorkshire and have not read them elsewhere yet, and the app tells you which is which.
  • Not planned yet · 1 countryWe hold nothing here and have not started. Northern Ireland has its own law about where you can walk, and doing it properly is a bigger job than another county. We would rather say so than leave the map blank and let you assume.

Boundaries from Ordnance Survey open data: ceremonial counties in England, principal areas in Wales and regions in Scotland. An area goes live once we have checked everything we hold for it.

What you can do about it

One thing, and it is not a petition. Create an account and walk one of these. Every county here has been measured against the map, and almost none of it has been walked by somebody who then said what was there. That is the part we cannot do from a desk.

There is no border left for a walk to cross. We hold England, Wales and Scotland, and Northern Ireland is across the sea. If you ever find a gap in what we hold, the app says it does not know. It will not guess.

We would rather tell you where we cannot help than colour in a map.
